centrality의 종류에 따라서 author network의 preferential attachment(빈익빈 부익부 현상, 새로운 node가 생겼을 때 가장 강한 node에 연결되는 현상)이 달라지는 분석한 연구
“steel structures”에 대해 데이터베이스를 구축하여 분석한 결과, 기존 노드의 betweenness centrality가 degree/closeness centrality에 비하여 preferential attachment를 잘 측정할 수 있는 지표인 것이 증명
네트워크가 성장함에 따라서, preferential attachment가 (local) degree centrality에서 betweenness centrality에 의해서 적용됨.
- 이는 특히, 저자 네트워크에서 새로운 노드들이 PhD project의 관리자가 포스트닥들과 연결될 가능성이 높다는 것을 말해줌.
즉, 저자 네트워크의 경우 high degree centrality보다는 betweenness centrality에 의해서 preferential attachment가 발현된다는 것을 보여줌.

현재 내가 진행하고 있는 연구의 경우 키워드 네트워크에 대해서 centrality를 분석한 연구이며, 키워드의 betweenness centrality가 네트워크의 어떤 특성을 보여주고 있는지를 파악하기 위함.
여기서는 “일반 네트워크에서는 preferential attachment가 degree centrality에 의해서 결정되지만, scholarly network에서는 betweenness centrality에 의해서 결정된다는 것을 보인 것”이 논문의 가장 중요한 부분.
논문 작성시에 centrality의 특성에 대해서는 정리된 것을 참고하여 쓸 수는 있겠지만, 이 논문을 레퍼런스로 삼기는 어려울 것으로 보임.
